| Thank you for your interest in LocalTalent which offers the opportunity to support Joan Armatrading on her 2012 UK tour |
| Please note the following important information: |
| 1) This is not strickly speaking a competition. This is Joan offering the opportunity for local artists in each of the 52 cities she will appear in 2012 to perform a 15 minute set before Joan's Special Guest Chris Wood and before Joan's performance. This is open only to musicians based in a city in the UK. |
| 2) We do require that you send in an MP3 file of your performance . This will allow us to assess the artist who will be the perfomer and in which city. Entries will We guarantee to listen to one whole track of each artist to determine who will be performing. |
| 3) There is no entry fee. |
| 4) Regrettably we will not be able to return MP3 files sent. However localtalent-uk.com.com may contact each entrant to give them updates about the various stages of our selection and information around media coverage etc. |
5) By entering the LocalTalent Search you agree to:
- take part, if requested in any media interviews broadcast on the radio/television , newspapers or magazines.
- Be available to perform at the concert hall you have been chosen to be the performing artist. |
| 6) A team of judges will listen to all the entries, aiming for a final list of 52 entrants. |
| 7) All entries must be in by 25th of November and artist will be notified by December the 20th 2011 if they have been successful in being chosen to perform as a support to Joan Armatrading. Performers will apperar before Joan's Special Guest Chris Wood and will play a 15 minute set. |
| 8) There is no public vote: The judges will shortlist 5 runners up for the 52 final places. Details tracks and video from these acts will then go live on localtalent-uk.com. |
9) The Finalists:
- Will be told the concert hall they will play December 20th.
- Must work closely with the Stage Manager, meeting all Health and Safety requirements, and must provide safe working equipment.
- Must not exceed the given time slot of 15 minutes.
- All finalists need to be aware that their performance may be recorded in both audio and audio visual formats for use on the localtalent-uk.com website, There will be no commercial use made of these recordings without the express permission of the Local Artists. Local Artist's have the right to veto before any material is made live. |
10) The chosen performers:
- Will be offered the opportunity to perform on a concert hall stage on Joan Armatrading's 2012 UK tour at a time, date to be determined by the LocalTalent organisers.
- Must agree to the normal requirements placed on performers on the concert hall stage, namely:
- To perform at the time notified to them (for the agreed length of time);
Agree to any filming or recording as required;
- Work with the Stage Manager to meet all Health and Safety requirements;
- Provide safe working equipment
- Provide one colour and one black and white press photograph, and one biography (one side A4), both pre-cleared for all media uses. |
| 11) If any chosen performer is unable to perform on the day, we require prior notice to allow a runner up to have the opportunity to perform at the venue of that day. This will be at the discretion of the LocalTalent organisers. The same terms as point 10, above, will apply. |
| 12) The LocalTalent organisers will make every effort to ensure the 52 chosen artist will perform at a Joan Armatrading concert in 2012. However there may, in certain circumstances, have to cancel the performance without consulting the performer. |
| 13) In the event that no LocalTalent has been found for a particular city the LocalTalent organisers have the right without consultation to choose any of the other artist from other cities or from the runners up. |
