Singer songwriter Mairi Campbell blends her distinctive vocals and skilled fiddle playing to create the haunting collection of tracks that feature on her debut solo album.

‘’This is a contemporary sounding album compared to my previous work but carries the same storytelling qualities that lie at the heart of traditional song.
The songs have a unique storytelling quality that touches on many contemporary and personal issues. Mairi’s strong melodic skill and Dave Francis’ lyrics combine to create a strong songwriting partnership that has inspired and supported the burgeoning folk scene in Scotland.

Mairi’s work has also attracted a celebrity fan base. In 1999, she sang for President Clinton and Sean Connery at the ‘Lifetime Achievement Awards’ in Washington DC . She also caught the attention of Sarah Jessica Parker, who recommended “Auld Lang Syne’ to the makers of ‘Sex and The City’.
In 2011 Mairi and Dave wrote the songs for the new folk musical ‘Tales at the World’s end’.

Mairi Campbell supported Joan in Edingburgh in 2012
